The Filippetti Pedigree

The Filippetti name carries four decades of Adriatic boatbuilding heritage. In 1981, Fausto Filippetti joined fellow entrepreneurs Tilli Antonelli and Giuliano Onori to found Cantiere Navale dell'Adriatico in Mondolfo, Italy. In 1985, working with naval architect Fulvio De Simoni, the trio launched the Pershing 45, a the boat that effectively invented the modern high-speed open sport yacht, blending the pace of a powerboat with the comfort and volume of a proper motor yacht.
The Pershing 45 was an immediate sensation, and the brand it spawned grew rapidly through the following decade. In 1998, Pershing was acquired by the Ferretti Group, the Italian conglomerate that also owns Riva, bringing the Filippetti-founded brand into the same stable as one of yachting's most storied names.

Fausto went on to spend a decade as a Pershing dealer himself before returning to boatbuilding under his own family name. Filippetti Yachts was born from that same restless passion for the sea, and today, under his son Giovanni Filippetti, the shipyard channels that founding DNA directly into the Sport Series, of which the S55 is the flagship expression.
