About this yacht
- The Legacy 40 was introduced in the 1990's as a Down East inspired cruiser. Designed by renown designer Mark Ellis, known for the Limestone powerboats, Nonsuch and Niagara sailboats. Ellis based the 40 footer's lines on the signature lobster yachts that were popular along the Maine coast.
- In building the traditional looking Legacy 40 with modern technology in materials and design, the boat caught on quickly in the upscale cruiser market, attracting not only longtime powerboats but former sailors as well. Its 12 year production run, which continues today, is testament to the boat's quality construction, spacious and refined interior and luxury amenties.
- This good looking, traditional. DownEast yacht will continue to turn heads well into the future.
