Emerald Lady is an iconic 1985 Irwin 65 cruising cutter rig ketch. She was originally built with a charter layout. She was chartered by her previous owner in the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas until 1998 when her present owner bought her. Since 1998 she has had multiple upgrades which include: The transformation of the aft two cabins to a large owners cabin with a king size bed A bow thruster A custom permanent fixed swim platform A custom centerboard A single line double mainsail reefing system An electric winch for the mainsail An electric winch for furling Replacement of the main mast step with a stainless steel mast step Larger battery bank (AGM) Solar panels Wind generator A custom fiberglass hardtop Bimini. The rigging has been improved for shorthanded sailing All lines are lead to the cockpit to electric winches The main can be reefed from the cockpit The furling staysail has a self-tending aluminum boom Her engine and generator were replaced in 2021 Her mainsail was replaced in 2021 Emerald Lady enjoys constant attention and maintenance.
